Adverse Weather Notice, A Letter from the Principal

2nd March 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all those of you who have understood the reasons for the closure this week. It has been disappointing to have to remain shut and I always dislike costing the students any time in school. We did wait to be sure there was no change in the weather – and ultimately decided to close because of the advice of GMP not to travel which affected those staff who live on the east side of the city. I know many of you bring the students to school and in the end, asking you to do that in these conditions would have been unreasonable.

We are intending to open as normal on Monday assuming it is safe to do so – Y9 Options evenings will go ahead as planned.

Students in Y11 in particular can access revision apps and websites today – and if they need any extra time after the weekend to catch up on work missed we will ensure we provide it for them as they prepare for their exams.

Many thanks to all of you for your support,

Mrs Langley
