Manchester United Foundation

The Manchester United Foundation works in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Greater Manchester using football to change young lives for the better.

They deliver football coaching, skills training, personal development and life changing experiences, and its goal is to use the passion for Manchester United to educate, motivate and inspire future generations to build better communities for all.

Hub of the Community

The Foundations objectives are to take Manchester United to the heart of the community and develop young people to achieve their full potential. No project has gone further to achieve this than the Hub of the Community.

The project bases full time Community Development Officers in targeted areas in order for them to build lasting relationships with the local community.

After an initial assessment of provision in the area, programming is tailored to meet the needs of that particular community. Our coaches are then based permanently at a secondary school to work with pupils from the school, children from feeder primary schools, teachers, parents, local community groups and partnership organisations.
