GAA Academy supports many charities in the form of raising funds and donating items to help those in need, to give them a better quality of life and in some instances a warm meal.
Most of the Academy fund raising is student led. Students express an interest to raise funds, some due to personal reasons and some just to show they care. Working with staff, students put together a plan of action for their activity to ensure it is implemented correctly, safely and the event has the maximum impact and publicity for their chosen charity.
Without the support of students, staff and the families at GAA Academy it would not be possible to raise the amounts we do – thank you.
Since the academy opened we have raised over £12,000.
In September 2016 academy students raised funds for the Tameside Macmillan Cancer Unit. In total they raised £1840.00
